In COMPROTware:Testtool 2.19.6 protocol communication can now be imported from another source: With support of ABB Power Grids in Mannheim, DE we implemented the import of ABB MicroSCADA/COM600 logging-files. Textfiles containing protocol logging, created with the communication monitoring/debugging interface of ABB MicroSCADA/COM600, can now be imported into CPTT. All protocols implementd in CPTT are supported.
COMPROTware:Testtool 2.19.4 news:
Many customers use COMPROTware:Testtool to ensure the availability and stability of their grid. In the 2010s to achieve this, it is necessary to carry out day- or
week-long protocol monitoring or simulations.
We continued to work on this goal in the current release: When used for days or weeks a very large amounts of data is collected. In order to compensate this, we worked on our MLG file format and now compress the stored Frames. The file sizes were more than halved depending on the protocol, thus speeding up file reading.
With COMPROTware:Testtool 2.19.1, we have successfully completed some open tasks:
"WibuKey Runtime 32/64 Bit" can be downloaded from [ WibuKey Runtime ] (alternatively: [ WIBU-User Software ] ).
Wibu-Systems has provided the following user information: WibuKey-User-Information-20181219a.pdf (500K)
You can request further information about the vulnerabilities from us: e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
For COMPROTware:Testtool 2.18.4, we worked hard on the general Message processing speed, resulting in noticeable improvements for every user:
COMPROTware:Testtool 2.18.3 is one more release with a lot of changes in the core but with only a few visible.
For this release the news are:
With COMPROTware:Testtool 2.18.2, little has been done on the outside, but we worked intensively on the core. Everything together creates the necessary basis for providing important developments in the next releases.
COMPROTware:Testtool 2.18.1 is the first release, which follows our new release numbering scheme.
For this release the news are:
With COMPROTware:Testtool 1.50.8 today we published the last release of the 1.50-line. Starting with the next release we will introduce a new release numbering
<Release State>.<Major Release No.>.<Year 2 digits>.<Patchlevel>
For this release the news are:
Since the last release in July, we together with some end users did very intensive development on COMPROTware:Testtool :
Some details are corrected in COMPROTware:Testtool Release 1.50.5, nothing big.
Nevertheless we recommend everyone to change to this release.
There are not many visible changes in COMPROTware:Testtool Release 1.50.4, but it includes important error corrections and many improvements.
We recommend everyone to change to this release!
We are constantly developing COMPROTware:Testtool, in the just published release 1.50.3 we enhanced the address filters. With many protocols you can now use address lists, address ranges and combinations of addresses and ranges to specify address filters:
After a long period of development we now published COMPROTware:Testtool T.1.50.
Among other things, new in COMPROTware:Testtool is:
After a long period of development of COMPROTware:Testtool , we now reached a level which is the basis of a new Approved Release.
Therefore we publish this release candidate, which regarding features and qualtity corresponds to the upcoming Approved Release. At the same time we call upon all our users to test the release candidate and if any issue found please send us a note: e-mail email@example.com
This release candidate also includes some additional improvements: In Extra, Split Log file ... you can now choose a scheme for resulting filenames, RIO Client has become more robust, we continued working on the Linux port and on the user interface.

We are open to any suggestion or problem report! Please mail us: e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Our development goals of the last weeks for COMPROTware:Testtool were to bring the software on one hand on MS Windows 10 and on the other hand on 32 bit- and 64 bit-Linux. Today with these goals reached we published a new development
Additionally CPTT got a new function which is usefull for long term tests: With File, Log to file ... you now have the option to change the target file name regularly.
CPTT on Linux is new for us, we still expect to have to gain more experience. Therefore we wish to be in close contact to our Linux users. Please send us an e-mail if you like to use CPTT on Linux, we will gladly provide an installation package for you: e-mail email@example.com
In the early years of telecontrol protocols the emphasis of testing lied in the interoperability between different system and device suppliers. The focus has changed in the meantime towards reliability and integrity during 24/7-operation: Today, the interest is to find even the tiniest anomalies in the protocol
For COMPROTware:Testtool this means that Message Log files (MLG files) are getting bigger and bigger, operations with giant data sets (files with several 100MB size) need to be performed more and more efficiently. Reason enough to improve all file operations considerably.
To be able to perform tests of a Controlling Station efficient and reproducible, we have introduced "qualified Message Lists" to COMPROTware:Testtool for IEC 60870-5-101/-104 . By putting Type Ident, Cause Of Transmission, Common Address, Information Object Address, ... into the Message List´s name you can react much more precisely on request messages.
During the last month we have ported and tested COMPROTware:Testtool for MS Windows 8 and 8.1, respectively Java 8. Today we published the new development snapshot. As always, some minor enhancements have been included and problems have been corrected.
A new development snapshot of COMPROTware:Testtool is ready: All network-based protocols now have the flag "Listen for Server Address only" in protocol profile. And "End of cost-free update period" is now shown in Help, About window.
A new development snapshot of COMPROTware:Testtool is ready: The communication modules for serial and IP-based communication are modernized.
The new Tested Release T.1.48 of COMPROTware:Testtool is ready.
COMPROTware:Testtool is now running on Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
The protocol presentation is reimplemented: In the upcoming releases you will see some major improvements. The IEC 60870-5-101/-104 Filetransfer-User Engine Class is revised.
There is a long list of improvements and enhancement in all areas.
We recommend all customers to change to this Tested Release.
